Dorchester Area Community Land Trust

The Client

Dorchester Area Community Land Trust (DACLT) is a not-for-profit organisation established to support the delivery of affordable housing in the Dorchester area, with a particular focus on helping local young people access homes within their community.

As the organisation began developing its plans and building awareness of the project, it needed an online presence where local people could understand what DACLT was working towards, follow its progress and find out how to get involved.

The Project

Towards the end of 2020, Alacrify designed and developed a new website for Dorchester Area Community Land Trust to help support the organisation as its plans developed.

The website needed to make what could be a detailed project easy for visitors to understand. We created a clear and accessible structure where DACLT could explain its aims, share information about the proposed affordable housing project and publish news and updates as work progressed.

We also made sure the website was straightforward for DACLT to maintain. Through Alacrify's Content Management System, the organisation could manage its own content and keep the local community informed without needing technical website knowledge.

The website was built using responsive website design, ensuring information could be accessed easily whether visitors were using a desktop computer, tablet or mobile phone.

The Result

The finished website gave DACLT a dedicated online platform from which to communicate its plans and establish a professional presence within the local community.

Rather than relying on information being shared across different channels, the website provided a central place where residents and other interested parties could learn about the organisation, understand its aims and keep up with the latest developments.
