The Client

Poole and Bournemouth Info is an Alacrify-created community website designed to provide a useful online resource for people living in, visiting or doing business across Poole and Bournemouth.

Launched in 2019, the website brings together local businesses, places to eat and stay, visitor attractions, things to do, news and events, helping people discover more of what the area has to offer.

The Project

Rather than being developed for an external client, Poole and Bournemouth Info was created by Alacrify as one of our own community projects. It followed similar local websites we had previously developed for Weymouth & Portland and Maiden Newton.

We designed and built a content-rich local directory capable of bringing a wide variety of information together within one easy-to-navigate website. Businesses and organisations could be listed on the site, while dedicated sections provided visitors with information about accommodation, food and drink, attractions, activities, local news and upcoming events.

The project also gave us the opportunity to use our website design and CMS experience to create and manage a large, regularly changing website of our own, while supporting businesses and organisations within the wider Dorset community.

The Result

Poole and Bournemouth Info created a dedicated local resource where residents and visitors could discover businesses, attractions, events and useful information from across the area in one place.

For local businesses and organisations, the website provided an additional way to increase their online visibility and reach people actively looking for places to visit, shop, eat or stay.

The project also demonstrates Alacrify's experience in developing larger directory and community websites, combining structured listings with editorial content, news and events to create a platform designed to grow as more information is added.
