Dorchester Poverty Action (DPA) is a local charity supporting people experiencing financial hardship in Dorchester and the surrounding area. The charity works with local care agencies and other organisations to provide grants to people facing urgent financial need.
With its work firmly rooted in the local community, DPA needed a stronger online presence that could clearly explain the support it provides, help people learn more about the charity and provide an effective way for supporters to contribute.
The Project
Alacrify donated its services to design and develop a new website for Dorchester Poverty Action, giving the charity a modern and accessible online presence.
An important requirement was making the website straightforward for the charity to maintain. Using Alacrify's Content Management System, DPA can manage and update its own website content without needing specialist technical knowledge.
The site was also built using responsive website design, ensuring that people can access important information and support the charity whether they're visiting on a desktop computer, tablet or mobile phone.
Beyond providing information, we developed online donation functionality so supporters could make donations directly through the website. This included the ability to collect Gift Aid declarations from eligible donors, helping DPA maximise the value of qualifying donations.
What We Did
The Result
The finished website gave Dorchester Poverty Action a professional and accessible online platform through which to promote its work, provide useful information and generate additional support for the charity.
Online donations and integrated Gift Aid functionality made the website a practical fundraising tool rather than simply somewhere to read about the organisation. At the same time, the Content Management System gave DPA greater control over keeping its information up to date.
