Mill Street Housing Society

The Client

Mill Street Housing Society is a local organisation providing affordable housing in Dorchester, particularly around the Fordington area of the town.

The Society provides a range of homes to meet different needs, including sheltered flats with a warden service for people aged over 60, larger properties for families, and flats for individuals and couples.

The Project

Mill Street Housing Society needed a completely new website that could serve both its existing members and the wider community while raising awareness of the organisation and the important role it plays locally.

Alacrify designed and developed a straightforward, accessible website that provides a central place for information about the Society, its housing and its work within Dorchester.

The project required a different approach from a commercial website, with the emphasis instead placed on clarity, ease of use and making useful information readily available to a broad audience. As a community-focused organisation based locally, the project is also a good example of our Dorset website design work for charities, societies and community organisations.

The Result

The finished website gives Mill Street Housing Society a dedicated online presence where members, prospective residents and the wider public can learn more about the organisation and the affordable housing it provides.

Information is presented clearly and simply, helping visitors understand the different types of accommodation available and the role the Society plays within the Dorchester community.

The new website has also helped increase the Society's visibility online, providing an effective platform for communicating its work and supporting an organisation that has an important role within the local community.
