Here is the core information about the 2 Apprenticeships we are offering at Alacrify in 2014. CLOSING DATE EXTENDED TO 7th March 2014 for #NAW2014

Website and Digital Marketing Assistant Vacancy

Apprenticeships in Digital Marketing and Web DevelopmentWe are seeking enthusiastic and motivated staff to work in our digital marketing team and undertake a variety of tasks that may include some or all of the following: website development and programming, copywriting, social media account management, customer support and training, digital design and search engine optimisation.

Job Description

We have an opportunity to take on a number of new members of staff to work on different aspects of our business. The apprenticeships’ job descriptions will be tailored to applicants’ abilities and ambitions and the needs of the business.

The work we do falls into 2 main areas, website development and digital marketing, but the job description may cover aspects of both of these areas of work.

Website development includes building websites in HTML, PHP, MySQL and Javascript. The sites are either developed using our own Content Management System, or by using third party systems like Shopify for ecommerce.

The work involves visual design of the sites, including designing logos, page layouts, and other visual elements of the site like adverts and buttons. We also create dynamic content for websites using PHP to make engaging and useful web experiences for clients and their customers.

Our digital marketing involves working with clients to build and run marketing campaigns for their businesses on the web. This can include copywriting and website optimisation to ensure their sites perform well on search engines. It can also include engaging in social networking activities on Twitter and Facebook to reach out to their customers and partners.

In addition we develop and deliver targeted email campaigns for specific marketing projects.

Alongside these activities we also carry out link-building and manage Adwords campaigns for our clients. We use a number of systems to analyse, prepare and deliver our clients’ marketing campaigns and the system used depends on the requirements of each campaign. In both roles the successful candidate will need to engage in creative writing as well as in design research and development.

The candidate will need to produce writing for use in marketing campaigns and within website project development. The job will also involve entering client information onto client websites using a Content Management System developed by us, and assisting clients with carrying out changes to their websites if needed.

The candidate may also use image editing software to customise artwork for use on the web and email newsletters. The candidate will be expected to attend and participate in some client meetings to gain a better understanding of the client’s needs and requirements.

The candidate may be asked to provide telephone or email support to clients who need help with using the online systems and services that we have set up for them. This may include supporting the client’s use of the website Content Management System, or other third party software that has been developed or installed for them.

The candidate may be required to undertake some general office duties, including answering the phone and providing some general office administration.

  • Weekly wage £112.50 at start, rising depending on experience
  • Working week Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm 37.5 hours
