When we launched the new Maiden Newton website we were keen to make use of the social networking provided by Twitter.
A newsy site like this is a perfect match for publishing stories that can then be followed on Twitter. To do this we utilised Twitterfeed to take the 4 RSS news feeds from the site (that cover village news and events diaries) and turn them into Tweets whenever new stories are published.
This was put to good use in the current spell of snowy weather when we published information about the disruption caused to village life. Within a couple of hours of the story being Tweeted, we had a flurry of new visitors to the site and followers on Twitter.
