Business Blogging and Telling Your Company's Story

We've been doing a lot of work lately to help to explain the purpose of blogging or posting news on our customers' websites.

Many business owners we talk to either think that this is a waste of time or alternatively don't think they'd have anything to say. Through our conversations with them they start to understand the importance of news and blogs to high performing websites and start think differently about this valuable aspect of digital marketing.

We see blogging and news generation having 2 clear purposes:

1. Staying in touch with customers

2. Reaching out to new customers through good SEO

Staying in touch with customers is clearly a good thing. It allows you to continue to develop your working relationship with them and explore new opportunities together as time goes by. They can keep up to date with your business activities and may hear of a new service that you're offering that relates to them that they didn't realise you offered.

Reaching out to new customers is all about getting your website up to speed and performing properly. This means Search Engine Optimisation or SEO. One of the cornerstones of SEO is freshness of content. This has become even more important in recent weeks as Google has changed its algorithms again to give more weight to fresh websites. Blogging or writing news is a simple way to keep your site up to date.

If you would like some help with working out what you could write about on your site, then please get in touch. We also offer copywriting services for our customers where we write and publish news for them on their websites, making sure their sites are well regarded by Google and the other search engines.
