A key aspect of Search Engine Optimisation is improving page load times.
This means that Google and other search engines can get to see more of your site more quickly whenever their spiders come and visit.
It also means that visitors quickly get to see the contents of your site without waiting around for content to load.
We measure the performance of our sites using Google's Page Speed tools. This can either be run from within Firefox or can be accessed using their online service.
The online service just needs a url to check and then it does its magic, returning a score out of 100 for the optimisation of your site, and a list of suggestions for making improvements.
We recently checked to see that the site for the Dorset County Show was still delivering fast load times and ran it on the Page Speed Tool.
It came back at 96/100! Job done...
