Websafe Fonts that Work in All Browsers
Here's our little crib sheet of the web safe fonts that we work with in most of our web projects. I've ordered them by usage and popularity, and shown them with in their font-family groups we prefer:
Sans-Serif Body Text Fonts
- Arial, sans-serif;
- Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;
- 'Trebuchet MS', Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;
- Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif;
- 'Lucida Sans Unicode', Arial, sans-serif;
Serif Body Text Fonts
- Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif;
- 'Times New Roman', Times, serif;
- 'Palatino Linotype', Times, serif;
Typewriter Fonts
- Courier, monospace;
- Lucida Console, monospace;
Heading Fonts
- Impact, 'Arial Black', sans-serif;
- 'Arial Black', sans-serif;
- and of course bold, italic and enlarged versions of our chosen body text font.
