3 out of 3 ain't bad! Google SEO
A third and final (for now) quick mention of another success on Google organic results, this time with Bay Publishing's 3 health and safety magazine websites.
Today they appeared as the top 3 links returned for a search for "articles on working at height". While you may think this is a bit of a specialist search term, and indeed you may be right, this is a great example of the power of "long tail" website performance, where you get lots of small bits of traffic from loads of different search terms which lead to lots of different pages.

In this case each of these sites has several hundred pages listed on Google with highly specialised articles listed and grouped in different topic headings. This increases the likelihood of matching topics (as in this 3 out of 3 example) or for random technical phrases within the articles.
We use this technique on many of our clients sites to ensure that they appeal to as broad an audience as possible and really leverage the potential of the "long tail" on the web.
