Google Search Ranking Success
Following on from our recent successes with improving the search result rankings for Dry Island and The Gables we are now beginning to see a simliar improvement in search rankings for John Bullock Lighting Design too.
Our recent conversion of John's website from a static brochure site to our own Simple CMS (content management system) has brought about some excellent results. He is now listed 4 times on the top 2 pages of Google for "Dorset Lighting Design" and the traffic to his site has begun to rise accordingly.
Top of Google. Getting to Number One
Bringing about these positive effects is a collaborative process. John has written about his experiences of this process on his blog: http://www.jb-ld.co.uk/feature/Published+Articles/14. As with all good things there is work to be done to achieve positive results, and John's excellent articles and discussions along with his superb image gallery and portfolio are making his site a hub of information about light and lighting in Dorset and farther afield.
Alongside generating great content there is a whole world of technical stuff to sort out with SEO (search engine optimisation). This is our area of specialism. We have built the CMS to be as good as possible when it comes to making friends with Search Engines. It gives them oodles of useful and on-topic information to index, building up the credibility rating of the site as a real destination and authority on the site's topic; in John's case this is of course Light and Lighting Design.
The final piece of the jigsaw is the bit that we both work on together. We offer advice and input on how best to structure information for presentation on the site to get the best possible results for the site. This not only covers the content and structure of the site itself, but also the ways in which to boost the site's profile on the web more generally. This includes finding suitable social networking and commercial directories on which to list the site. We can advise on the best tactics to use on these third party sites to get maximum benefit from your listing.
